Box Score PITTSBURGH - Andrea Beaty and Alyssa Deno tied for match-high honors
with 12 kills apiece, and Saint Louis used a stellar defensive effort to defeat
Duquesne 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 Friday night in an Atlantic 10 Conference match at
the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Cassie Clarke had 14 digs to lead four Billikens in double
figures. Ashley Gaillot tallied 12 digs, while Grace Bonoma and Andrea
Bolt collected 10 apiece. Deno registered nine digs.
At the net, Carly
Schumacher led the way with six blocks, followed by Carly Marcum and
Beaty with four apiece and Emma Goldschmidt with three. Schumacher also
enjoyed a solid offensive night with five kills and no errors in 10 attempts.
Clarke
distributed 28 assists and Bolt had three service aces for the Billikens (11-8,
7-2 A-10), who limited Duquesne to a .109 attack percentage while picking up
their fifth consecutive victory. Duquesne slipped to 15-8, 5-4 in the A-10.
The Billikens host Fordham Friday, Oct. 28. Match time at Chaifetz
