Box Score DAYTON - Four Saint Louis players registered a double-digit kill total, and
the third-seeded Billikens dominated the decisive fifth set in a 20-25, 25-16,
25-19, 18-25, 15-8 victory over No. 6 Rhode Island Friday night in an Atlantic
10 Conference Championship first-round match at Dayton's Frericks Center.
The Billikens (15-11) advance to face No. 2 Xavier in a 6:30 p.m. (CT)
Saturday semifinal. Rhode Island ended its season 15-15.
Carly Marcum and Andrea Beaty tied for match-high honors
with 14 kills apiece, with Marcum hitting a match-best .524 (14-3-21). Lauren Baumet and Alyssa Deno tallied 12 and 11 kills, respectively, and Cassie Clarke directed the offense with
43 assists while tying Grace Bonoma
with a match-high 16 digs.

Schumacher recorded seven blocks apiece, and Marcum picked up five as Saint
Louis earned a 14-8 advantage at the net. The Billikens turned in 15 service
