Eng, Divers Lead Billikens in Tri-Meet

LEBANON, Ill.Meghan Eng turned in three top-5 finishes, and Elizabeth Voss and Lauren Van Vooren recorded diving victories to lead Saint Louis in a tri-meet vs. McKendree and Drury Oct. 13-14.
 
Eng led a trio of Billiken swimmers who found success in the backstroke events, finishing second in the 200 back (2:06.95) and third in the 100 back (58.62). Lettie Williams was third in the 200 back (2:09.48) and fifth in the 100 back (59.78), while Meggie McPherson placed fourth in the 100 (58.93) and 200 (2:11.04).
 
Eng finished fifth in the 500 free (5:18.28), an event that also saw Emily Leonard place third (5:10.77). Leonard was runner-up (10:36.76) and Morgan Walker was fourth (10:59.95) in the 1000 free.
 
Kenna Cashman turned in a pair of top-five performances, placing fourth in the 100 breast (1:07.64) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:13.31).
 
Also posting top-five efforts were Karis Reynaga, third in the 200 free (1:55.19); Ella Bolling, fifth in the 200 fly (2:11.95); MaryBeth Clark, fifth in the 100 fly (59.31); and Hazel Perkins, fifth in the 200 breast (2:29.11).
 
Voss claimed the top spot in 1-meter diving (206.65), and Van Vooren won the 3-meter competition (227.75).
 
Jeddrick Gamilla was the top performer for the Billiken men's team. Gamilla touched second in the 200 breast (2:07.39) and fifth in the 100 breast (59.26). Franklin Liu finished fourth in the 1000 free (9:50.63).
 
Up next for the Billikens is a dual meet at Washington University Friday, Oct. 20.
