Billikens Fall in OT at Denver

DENVER - Denver's Ryan Dodson scored in the first overtime session to help the Pioneers to a 2-1 victory against Saint Louis Saturday in non-conference men's soccer action at CIBER Field in Denver, Colo.

The Billikens see their three match winning streak come to an end and dip to 3-2-0 on the year. Denver improves to 1-1-2.

SLU sophomore forward Kingsley Bryce opened the scoring with a tally in the 48th minute. It was his first goal of the season and the third of his career.

Denver's Mark Weigand scored on a corner kick at 74:36 to make it 1-1, and the two teams went into overtime deadlocked at the same score. Dodson buried the game winner, on an assist from Zach Bolden, 6:13 into overtime.

SLU keeper Nick Shackelford tied his career high with 10 saves.

The Billikens return to action Saturday, Sept. 15, when they host Evansville at Hermann Stadium. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
