Vedad Ibisevic Returns to Hermann Stadium

ST. LOUIS – Former Saint Louis University men's soccer standout Vedad Ibisevic and his Bosnia-Herzegovina Men's National Team trained on the Hermann Stadium pitch this week in advance of Friday's friendly against Ivory Coast at the Edward Jones Dome.

SLU head coach Mike McGinty presented Ibisevic with a gift on behalf of the men's soccer team. Ibisevic, who also plays professionally with VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga, played at SLU in 2003. That year, he tied for fourth nationally in scoring with 18 goals and four assists. Ibisevic claimed first-team All-America honors and Conference USA Freshman of the Year accolades.

Ibisevic helped Bosnia-Herzegovina qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup when he scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory against Lithuania last October.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will have another SLU connection. Brad Davis, who played for the Billikens in 2000 and 2001, is a member of the U.S. Men's National Team.
