ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis junior midfielder Filip Pavisic scored in the 86th minute to vault the Billikens to a 1-0 victory against Tulsa Friday night at Hermann Stadium. It was the season opener for both teams.

Pavisic's goal, the first of his career, came after the Billikens had threatened multiple times late in the match. Graydon started the scoring play with a corner kick. It went to Manning, who attempted a leaping header. Pavisic ended up pouncing on it and buried a shot into the right side for the game's only goal.
Saint Louis outshot the Golden Hurricane 14-9 and managed a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Otte made one save for the clean sheet, and the SLU defense was sharp on multiple occasions, thwarting several dangerous chances by Tulsa.
Kristo fired a team-high four shots for the Billikens, while Pavisic had three.
The Billikens return to action Sunday night when they face Virginia Tech in a 7 p.m. kickoff at Hermann Stadium. The Hokies defeated SIUE tonight 1-0 in overtime.
