The Basics

George Washington's Garrett Heine scored on a penalty kick in the 101st minute as the Colonials topped Saint Louis 1-0 Saturday night in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.

SLU (8-6-2, 4-2-2 A-10) now sets its sights on the A-10 Championship, where the Billikens will be the No. 3 seed. Saint Louis will play the late game on Thursday night, with kickoff at approximately 7 p.m. (CT). The tournament is being held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.

George Washington (10-7-0, 6-2-0 A-10) clinched the A-10 regular-season title with the win. Heine was awarded the PK after being fouled in the box. He converted the chance for his ninth goal of the year.

The Billiken defense was sharp once again, limiting George Washington to just three shots on frame. SLU keeper David Andre made a pair of saves.

SLU's nine seniors were recognized prior to the match in a pregame ceremony.
