George Washington's Garrett Heine scored on a free kick in the 82nd minute as the Colonials defeated the Saint Louis Billikens 1-0 Saturday in the Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer regular-season finale for both teams.
SLU, which already wrapped up the A-10 regular-season title, finishes the regular season with a 7-7-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the A-10. George Washington is now 8-5-5 overall and 3-3-2 in the league.
The match saw the return of Billiken goalkeeper Sascha Otte, who missed the previous six games due to an injury. He made three saves.
The A-10 Championship bracket will be released tomorrow. The Billikens will play in the first game of the tournament on Thursday at 10 a.m. (CT). The A-10 Championship will be held on the campus of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina.
