RECAP
Goals from Leo Novaes and John Klein propelled Saint Louis to a 2-1 men's soccer victory over Central Arkansas Sunday evening at Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens are unbeaten in their last four matches and improve to 3-1-2 with the win. Central Arkansas dips to 2-3-1 with the loss.
Saint Louis is clicking on all cylinders as it looks ahead to the highly-anticipated Bronze Boot matchup against SIUE on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at Hermann Stadium.
On Sunday, the Billikens again dominated both sides of the ball. They had a 16-3 advantage in shots, and Central Arkansas did not threaten until late in the second half.
Novaes opened the scoring in the 41st minute when he scored directly off a free kick from a tough angle. It was his second goal of the season.
Klein scored his second goal in as many games in the 76th minute. He collected a pretty through ball from Devin Boyce and put one past the UCA keeper for the eventual game-winner.
Central Arkansas scored on a PK in the 86th minute to cut its deficit in half, but the SLU defense and keeper Ty Frederking fought off the late charge to preserve the 2-1 victory.
