A LOOK AT THE BILLIKENS

• Having clinched a home game for the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship quarterfinals, Saint Louis aims for a ninth straight victory when the Billikens meet George Mason Sunday, Oct. 20, in Fairfax, Virginia. First whistle is scheduled for noon (CDT).
• SLU sits alone atop the Atlantic 10 Conference standings with three games remaining, two of which are on the road.
• Saint Louis is coming off a 1-0 win at Fordham, while George Mason fell 2-0 to La Salle at home in its most recent game.
• The Patriots lead the Billikens 3-2 in the all-time series, but SLU has won the last two meetings including a 3-1 victory in the 2018 A-10 Championship semifinals. The teams haven't met in the regular season since 2016, a 4-0 Billiken win in St. Louis.
• Saint Louis remained No. 2 in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region poll, trailing only Georgetown.
• SLU's win over Fordham Thursday night extended the Billikens' winning streak to eight and their unbeaten streak to 10 (9-0-1). It also gave them a 20-game winning streak against A-10 opponents.
• Saint Louis has allowed just three goals over its last 10 games.
• The Bills are No. 44, highest among A-10 teams, in this week's RPI. SLU has played three teams in the RPI top 30 – Louisville (No. 12), Oklahoma State (No. 25) and Notre Dame (No. 29).
• Seniors Alli Klug and Evie Lavelle are playing in their 80th game today, tying for ninth place on the Saint Louis career list.
• Twenty-one different player combinations have accounted for the Billikens' 23 assisted goals this season. Thirteen Billikens have scored at least one goal, and 16 have tallied at least one point.
• The Billikens lead the A-10 in GAA (0.49), save percentage (.833) and shutouts (nine) and are third in corner kicks (96).
• In conference games only, Saint Louis tops the league in goals per game (3.00), GAA (0.43) and shutouts (four).
Mary Niehaus leads the A-10 in GAA (0.28), save percentage (.900) and shutouts (eight).
Hannah Friedrich leads the league in game-winning goals (five), is tied for sixth in goals per game (0.44) and ranks seventh in points per game (0.94) and shots per game (2.63).
Emily Groark and Evie Lavelle are third (0.42) and tied for seventh (0.31), respectively, in assists per game.
Annabelle Copeland and Anna Lawler are tied for seventh in game-winning goals (two).
• After capturing A-10 regular-season and tournament titles a year ago, SLU was selected to win the league again this season.
• Senior defender Alli Klug appears on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for a second straight season. Klug also is one of four Billikens on the A-10 preseason All-Conference team, joining senior goalkeeper Mary Niehaus, senior midfielder Courtney Reimer and sophomore forward Hannah Friedrich.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS

• George Mason tied for third place (8-2) in the 2018 A-10 regular-season standings and finished 14-6 overall.

• The Patriots have been hampered by the absence of sophomore forward/midfielder Emma van der Vorst, who was injured earlier this season. Van der Vorst was the A-10 Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year a season ago.

• Junior forward Jisca Adigo and junior forward/midfielder Kayla Hamric have three goals and three assists apiece to lead the team with nine points.

• Freshman midfielder Grace Hotaling also has three goals.

• Junior defender Shannon Lee was a second-team All-Conference selection last year.
