ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head men's soccer coachÂ
Kevin Kalish announced today the addition of goalkeeperÂ
Eric Walker (St. Louis, Mo.) to the roster. Walker comes to SLU after spending last semester at the University of Kentucky. Â
Additionally, newcomers
Mason Leeth (Kansas City, Mo.) and
Eduardo Rodrigues (Fortaleza, Brazil) will officially join the team after enrolling at SLU for the 2021 spring semester. Leeth played in five matches with Sporting Kansas City in the USL last fall after helping his academy team to the USSDA playoffs in 2018 and 2019. Rodrigues is a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American while playing at Gateway Legacy Christian Academy. Leeth, Rodrigues and Walker are part of anÂ
11-player class-player class that is recognized by Top Drawer Soccer as being in the top 20 in the nation.Â
A graduate of St. Mary's High School in St. Louis, Walker was the starting keeper for the Saint Louis FC Academy U19 squad. He also trained and attended preseason with the Saint Louis FC USL squad in 2019. Walker appeared in two matches and did not concede a goal. Â
"We are excited to welcome Eric to the Billiken family and back to St. Louis," Kalish said. "Eric is a very talented goalkeeper who we've known for a very long time. He has a growth mindset and wants to improve, and we think his best days are ahead of him. Eric has been trained for many years by Tim Kelly at Saint Louis FC, who has a track record of developing many successful goalkeepers at all levels. We can't wait to begin working with Eric this spring."Â
The Billikens are gearing up for their competition schedule, which is slated to begin in early February.
