COLUMBIA, Mo. – Elizabeth Mintusova and Mariona Perez took their singles opponents to the wire in Saint Louis' 7-0 loss to Missouri Thursday afternoon.
 
At No. 1, Mintusova won the first set decisively and took Ellie Wright to a tiebreaker in the second and third sets before bowing 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (8-6).
 
Perez overcame a close loss to Valentina Vazquez in the opening set of her No. 2 match and pulled even with a strong second-set win, but Vazquez prevailed 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-6 (7-4).
