ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 7 seed Saint Louis advanced to the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship quarterfinals with a 4-1 first-round victory over No. 10 St. Bonaventure Wednesday afternoon.

The Billikens (7-6), who extended their winning streak to three matches, take on second-seeded Rhode Island (8-1) Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (CDT).

After falling at No. 3 doubles, Saint Louis came back to earn the point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2.
Jessica Stefan and
Mya Spencer topped Paula Velilla and Emily Stanley 6-2 at No. 2, and a 6-4 decision for
Elizabeth Mintusova and
Mariona Perez over Sofia Franco and Andrea Roque at No. 1 put the point in the Billikens' column.

St. Bonaventure pulled even with a win at No. 6 singles, but SLU won the next three completed matches to clinch the victory. Perez got things started by breezing past Anastasia Gubanova 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, followed by Spencer's 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Roque at No. 4. Mintusova overcame a first-set loss to oust Franco 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1.
