Gillen, Wissing Honored by A-10

ST. LOUIS – The Atlantic 10 Conference today announced that Toby Gillen and Katie Wissing earned All-Conference plaudits during the A-10 Outdoor Track and Field campaign.

Gillen was named to the All-Rookie team as the top freshmen competitor in the 5,000 meters. The All-Rookie teams comprise the top-rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the outdoor season through the Atlantic 10 Championships. The teams were selected based off meet results submitted through the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).

Gillen had a top 5,000-meter time of 14:07.63, which he ran at the Stanford Invitational. Gillen captured the gold medal at the A-10 Outdoor Championships in the 10,000 meters and the bronze medal in the 5,000 meters at the A-10s en route to A-10 Rookie of the Year honors. He won a gold in the 5,000 and the silver in the 3,000 during the indoor season as he was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer at the A-10 Indoor Championships.

Wissing earned her third straight A-10 Academic All-Conference honor. She graduated this spring with a Master of Athletic Training after an impressive career that included five conference medals.

Wissing is No. 2 in school history with three A-10 gold medals. She owns the indoor school record in the triple jump, and just last week was selected as the Most Outstanding Female Graduating Student-Athlete at Saint Louis University.
