CHICAGO – Saint Louis bettered a pair of school records on Friday as the indoor track and field season continued at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic, hosted by DePaul University.

Toby Gillen began the day by registering a new school record in the mile, crossing first overall in 4:05.92. That exceeded the previous school record of 4:12.82, set by
Kevin Ganahl in the 2018-19 season. Gillen's time in the mile is also the fastest by an A-10 competitor so far this season.

Will Stewart is the new school record holder in the 200 meters. He finished in 22.09 to top
Caleb Logan's previous school mark of 22.29, which accomplished in 2019-20.

In addition to the school records, there were numerous other strong performances by the Billikens at the meet.

On the women's side,
Emily Nichols won the 400 meters in a time of 57.42, the second fastest time in the A-10 this season. Angelina placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 16.03 meters.

For the men,
Malik Stewart was third in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:30.55. He also placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.92 meters.
Diego Collado was the runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 15.32 meters.

The Billikens swept the top two positions in the triple jump, with
Evan Bruenderman finishing first (14.20 meters) ahead of Kayden Kouadio in second (13.71 meters).
