The Ramblers jumped on the Billiken defense and keeper Mason Hart early, out-shooting SLU 10-0 in the first half and scoring a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Oscar Dueso got the first for LUC in the 18th minute. Petar Janice made it 2-0 Loyola Chicago with a 30th-minute goal.
Christian Buendia got the Billikens on the board in the 50th minute with his second goal in as many games. From the left side, Tanner Anderson sent in a centering pass. Buendia was able to settle it and fired from the penalty spot to inside the left post to cut Loyola's lead in half.
