BOSTON – Competing in the famed David Hemery Valentine Invitational this weekend in Boston, a pair of Billikens achieved school records while several others posted personal bests.

SLU's regular season is nearing an end as preparation continues for the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, set for Feb. 25-26 in Rhode Island.

In Boston,
Matt de Haas established a new school record in the 800 meters when he won his section with a time of 1:51.57.

Later in the meet,
Toby Gillen shattered his own school mark in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 13:41.59.

On the women's side, Billikens posted PRs in a trio of events.
Carly Sear ran 17:33.90 in the 5,000 meters, while
Emily Nichols turned in times of 56.62 in the 400 meters and 25.39 for 200 meters for PRs.

Harrison Martinenko achieved a PR in the mile, running a 4:09.92.

SLU is back in action Friday, Feb. 17, for the Friday Night Meet hosted by Eastern Illinois University. It is the Bills' final tune-up prior to the A-10 meet.
