GENEVA, Ohio – Three school records fell for Saint Louis Saturday on the final day of the 2023 Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
Teddy Ament set two Saint Louis marks in the men's 1650 free. Ament, who finished fifth, covered the route in a school-record 15:53.11, and his 9:33.96 split for 1000 yards also established a Billiken record.
Daniel Verdico placed fifth in the men's 200 breast in a school-record 1:58.05.
Also scoring for the Billiken men were
Franklin Liu, 10th in the 1650 free (16:10.08);
Phillip Endom, 11th in the 200 fly (1:51.62);
Jeddrick Gamilla, 12th in the 200 breast (2:01.89);
Brae Sanchez, 14th in the 200 breast (2:02.68); and
Daniel Jekov, 16th in the 200 back (1:50.94).
The SLU women were led by
Emily Leonard, who finished seventh in the 1650 free (16:56.94);
Sophie Kishish, 11th in the 1650 free (17:23.12); and
Mia Yeo, 15th in the 200 fly (2:05.57).
In the 400 free relay, Saint Louis was eighth in the men's race (3:03.24) and ninth in the women's competition (3:26.26). The men's team consisted of
