O'FALLON, Ill. – Saint Louis men's tennis ran its record to 5-0 with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Chicago State Saturday night at St. Clair Tennis Club.
With the match tied 3-3,
Sansh Kumar delivered the winning point with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Percy Siercke at No. 6 singles.
The Billikens had to rebound after losing the doubles point. Joining Kumar in the singles win column were
Ryota Fukushima, 7-5, 7-6 over Hugo Hidalgo Vega at No. 2;
Luca Lo Nardo, 6-4, 6-2 over Max Sandoval at No. 3; and
Adam Behun, 6-4, 6-4 over Arhaan Pahwa at No. 4.
"We started down after doubles today but found a way back into the match," head coach
Justin Stuckey said. "I was very pleased with our mentality in the singles matches."
The Billikens host Quincy in a pair of matches Wednesday, Feb. 8, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
