PEORIA, Ill. – Saint Louis women's tennis extended its winning streak to four matches with a 7-0 victory over Bradley Thursday afternoon.
The Billikens (16-5) won for a sixth time in seven matches. The 16 victories match the 2017 and 1979 teams for the third-highest total in program history.
Elizabeth Mintusova won her 24th doubles match (tournament and dual combined) of the season, teaming with
Ksenia Aleshina for a 6-3 victory over Anna Belogliadova and Maria Bezmenova at No. 2. Mintusova (24-1 overall, 18-0 in duals) is tied for fourth place on SLU's single-season list for doubles wins; the school record is 26.
Mya Spencer and
Sandra Gines raced past Alexandra Hildreth and Mariia Pukhina 6-1 at No. 3 as the Billikens captured the doubles point.
Saint Louis dropped only one set in singles play. Mintusova breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Belogliadova at No. 1;
Norhan Hesham was a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Pukhina at No. 2;
Fiorella Duran ousted Kirstin Hailey 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3; Aleshina outlasted Bezmenova 7-6, 6-7, 10-4 at No. 4; Spencer topped Madalena Andrade 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5; and Gines defeated Hildreth 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
The Billikens play two matches at Missouri Saturday, April 15.
