NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference named Will Stewart its Outdoor Track & Field Men's Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
 
Competing in the Gary Wieneke Memorial at the University of Illinois last weekend, Stewart set a new school record in the 200 meters with a time of 21.48. That was the fastest 200-meter time in the A-10 last week and ranks as the fourth fastest in the league this season, and first among freshman.
 
Stewart also owns the 11th-best mark in the 100 meters this season, clocking a 10.73 at the Cal State LA Twilight two weeks ago.
 
This is Stewart's second A-10 honor of his rookie season as he was named the men's Rookie of the Week during the indoor campaign on Dec. 6, 2022.
 
The Billikens head to Iowa this weekend to compete in the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open.
