Ksenia Aleshina defeated Elizabeth Hamilton and Laura Greb 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, but Dayton captured wins at Nos. 1 and 3 to take a 1-0 lead.

Norhan Hesham outlasted Neena Katauskas 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2.

"We put ourselves in a hole today with how we played in doubles," head coach
Justin Stuckey said. "Our singles play was much better. There were some singles performances that stood out; Ksenia, Sandra and Fiorella won in straight sets, and Norhan fought back from a set down. I was very proud of how we made it a team win with energy from Kate and Lizzie as well. Credit to Dayton for their fight in singles today."

The Billikens play their final home match of the season Tuesday, April 11, vs. Kansas City. Match time at Dwight Davis Tennis Center is 3 p.m.
