CHICAGO – Saint Louis' men's and women's cross country squads were in action Friday at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola Chicago.
Firaol Ahmed led the men's team in the 8K championship race, placing 33rd in a big 8K PR of 24:16. Spencer Werner (24:41) and Harrison Martinenko (24:44) were next for the Bills. Lukasz Iwanowski (25:02) and Bora Celiknal (25:14) rounded out SLU's top five.
On the women's side, Sophia Pelligreen again led the Billikens in the open 6K race. She placed sixth overall with a time of 21:18, just ahead of McKenna Paulson (21:30) in ninth. Carly Sear (22:09), Riley Franz (22:47) and Avery Minnis (22:54) also scored for the Billikens.
SLU is back in action Friday, Oct. 13, for the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois.
