Billikens Sweep Dual Meet with UMSL

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis competitors won eight women's events and seven men's events as the Billikens swept a dual meet with Missouri-St. Louis Saturday afternoon at Simon Recreation Center.
 
The Billiken women defeated UMSL 145-73, while the Billiken men prevailed 131.5-86.5.
 
Elena Escalante led the women's team with two individual victories and a spot on a victorious relay team. Escalante won the 50 free (24.99) and 100 free (53.68) and joined Karis Reynaga, Carly McKeon and Emily Leonard on the winning 400 free relay squad (3:34.77).
 
McKeon touched first in the 200 free (1:57.37). Also winning for Saint Louis were Morgan Walker in the 400 IM (4:43.40), MaryBeth Clark in the 100 fly (58.61), Meghan Eng in the 100 back (58.70) and Elizabeth Voss in 1-meter diving (225.70).
 
In the men's meet, Colton Mosley captured the 50 free (21.55) and swam on SLU's winning 200 medley relay (1:35.10) and 400 free relay (3:10.74) teams. Daniel Jekov also was a member of both relay quartets.
 
Logan Townsend claimed victory in the 100 free (47.76) and anchored the 400 free relay team, while Brae Sanchez won the 100 breast (57.20) and was a member of the 200 medley relay team. Also winning for the Billikens were Franklin Liu in the 500 free (4:45.10) and Ben Mears in 1-meter diving (287.60).
 
Ethan Hoak and Ryan Bates were members of the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams, respectively.
