Saint Louis continues a difficult portion of its schedule Friday night when the Bills travel to face the SMU Mustangs in Dallas. Game time at Washburne Soccer & Track Stadium is 7 p.m.. It is the third match of four-straight away from Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens are 1-2 on the season. They defeated Butler 2-1 on opening night, but have dropped consecutive contests to Lipscomb (2-1) and SIUE (2-0).
SMU enters Friday's match 3-1 on the year. The Mustangs are ranked in all three national polls – No. 22 (United Soccer Coaches), No. 20 (Top Drawer Soccer) and No. 23 (College Soccer News).
Friday's match will be streamed on ESPN+.

1 // CJ Coppola leads the Billikens in scoring with two goals, both of which came against Butler in the season opener.
2 // Jeremi Abonnel (two starts) and Mason Hart (one start) has seen time between the posts for the Billikens.
3 // The Billikens are getting it done on the recruiting trail. The 2023 class was tabbed No. 1 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer. Next year's class also has a No. 1 ranking in the nation by Prep Soccer.
4 // Both the Billikens and Mustangs feature head coaches leading their alma maters. Kevin Kalish is in his sixth year at the helm of the Bills after graduating from SLU in 1999. Kevin Hudson graduated in 2004 from SMU and is in his ninth season leading the Mustangs. Hudson's father, Bruce Hudson, played at SLU from 1971-74 and helped the Billikens to two national titles in 1972 and 1973.
5 // Saint Louis and SMU are continuing a long-standing rivalry. This will be the 38th meeting between the squads in a series that began in 1975. In fact, SMU is the Billikens' third-most common opponent, trailing only Indiana (46 meetings) and SIUE (40 meetings). SMU leads the all-time series 16-14-7. The Mustangs won last year's match 3-0 at Hermann Stadium. The last game in Dallas came in 2021, a 1-1 draw. SLU's last win the series came in 2005, a 4-2 Billiken win.
