Billiken Men Earn Six-Point Win over Omaha

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis swimming and diving returned to action Friday night with a split against Omaha at Simon Recreation Center. The Billiken men edged the Mavericks 115-109, while Omaha earned a 132.5-91.5 win in the women's meet.
 
Franklin Liu and Logan Townsend led the men's team. Liu won the 500 free (4:45.73) and 1000 free (9:48.69), while Townsend captured the 200 free (1:43.66) and joined Colton Mosley, Wyatt Johnson and Ethan Highley for a victory in the 200 free relay (1:25.67).
 
Brae Sanchez also turned in a win, touching first in the 100 breast (56.84).
 
Emily Leonard was the leading performer for the Saint Louis women, topping the field in the 500 free (5:10.73) and 1000 free (10:37.59). Meghan Eng won the 100 back (58.74), and Kenna Cashman finished first in the 100 breast (1:08.23).
 
Up next for the Billikens is a dual meet at UMSL Saturday, Jan. 20, at noon.
