NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Saint Louis' indoor track and field squads competed in its first meet of 2024 this weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville.

Harrison Martinenko bettered his own school record in the 1,000 meters, winning the event in a time of 2:25.93.

Other strong performances on the men's side included
Firaol Ahmed's PR in the 5,000 meters, as he placed second with a time of 14:36.00.
Will Stewart ran the 200 meters in 22.11, just off his school record.

Emily Nichols neared two school-record runs. In the 400 meters, she posted a time of 56.45. In Friday's 200 meters, she finished in a time of 25.44.

Up next for Saint Louis is the Illini Challenge Jan. 26-27 in Champaign, Illinois.
