CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Two school records and numerous personal bests were met this weekend at the Illini Challenge, held at the University of Illinois.
Emily Nichols broke her own school record in the 60 meters, running 7.73 in the preliminary heat. She ended up finishing seventh in the event.
James Baker achieved a school record in the pole vault on the men's side. He registered a height of 4.45 to better his own school mark in the event.
Among the many PRs met this weekend resulting in top-10 finishes included
Will Stewart in the 60 meters. He ran 6.95 in the prelims and ended up finishing third with another PR of 6.91.
Jack McPhillips placed fourth in the 600 meters with a PR of 1:25.85, while
Tyler Schweizer placed third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:35.04, a PR.
Evan Bruenderman went 21-10.25 in the long jump for a PR, finishing eighth.
Sonja Morin turned in a PR in the 800 meters, leading the Bills with a seventh-place finish in the event.
Jenna Givens placed seventh in the triple jump with a PR of 37-11.25.
Saint Louis is next in action Feb. 2-3 at the Meyo Invitational at the University of Notre Dame.
