SLU leads 20-7-5 |
Saint Louis heads to No. 15 Dayton Saturday night to close out Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season play. Game time at Baujan Field is 6 p.m. (CT).
The Billikens (7-2-7, 4-0-3) are unbeaten in their last 13 matches. A win against the Flyers on Saturday and a loss by George Mason (at VCU) would give SLU at least a share of the A-10 regular-season title.
The Flyers (9-2-3, 4-1-2 A-10) come into the match having won four in a row, including a win against then-No. 1 West Virginia.
Here are five additional facts in advance of Saturday's match at Dayton:
1 // A win or a draw Saturday would give SLU an unbeaten record in A-10 play for the fourth time since joining the conference in 2005.
2 // Luis Lara leads the Billikens with eight goals. He is SLU's active leader in career goals scored with 24 (16 at Stetson, eight at Saint Louis).
3 // Seth Anderson has nine assists to lead the league and rank fifth in the NCAA.
4 // Jeremi Abonnel was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. He leads the A-10 and ranks among the nation's leaders in goals against average (0.60, 4th in NCAA) and shutouts (8, tied for 2nd in NCAA).
5 // The Billikens own a 20-7-5 series advantage over the Flyers, including a 3-0-2 mark over the last five. The first official game in SLU men's soccer history was against Dayton on Sept. 26, 1959.
