Amundson Sets Two School Records

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Journey Amundson had an impressive showing at the Indiana Early Meet Friday at Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Indiana.

She surpassed a pair of school records that were set by two of the most decorated athletes in school history. First, Amundson surpassed Brittney Cloudy's previous school record in the long jump, reaching 6.03 meters to better Cloudy's mark of 5.82 meters set in 2012.

Amundson wasn't done setting records. Later in the night, she surpassed Katie Wissing's five-year-old triple jump school record (12.41m) by reaching 12.50 meters. Amundson finished first in both the long jump and the triple jump at IU.

Also setting a school record on the day was Tristan Boatman, a transfer from Troy University. He reached 16.09 meters in the shot put to move past Brett Kowalczyk's previous school best of 15.85 meters set in 2019.

The Billikens are now on winter break. They resume the indoor season Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at the Missouri Showdown in Columbia, Mo.
