CARBONDALE, Ill. – Saint Louis' indoor track and field campaign got underway this past weekend at the Saluki Fast Start Meet, hosted by Southern Illinois University.
Tristan Boatman, a transfer from Troy University, won the weight throw (17.20 meters) and the shot put (15.64).
Journey Amundson was also a double winner. She placed first in the long jump, reaching 5.81 meters, and also won the triple jump with a leap of 12.11 meters.
Jack Robeson was the top collegiate finisher in the mile, crossing in a time of 4:34.42.
Evan Bruenderman was second among collegiate competitors in the triple jump, finishing with a distance of 14.49 meters. Chase Pitre was the runner-up in the 800 meters, crossing the line in a time of 1:58.67. Tyler Burns was the second collegiate finisher in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:06.14.
Also, the men's 4x400-meter relay placed second, finishing in 3:27.19.
The Billikens resume the early portion of their indoor track schedule on Friday when travel to Indiana University for the Indiana Early Bird.
