Indoor T&F Concludes Regular Season

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Saint Louis' indoor track and field teams competed in the Don DeNoon Invitational on Saturday at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. It was the Billikens' final test before next weekend's Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
 
Several Billikens took first in their respective events.
 
On the women's side, Samantha Kunza won the weight throw with a toss of 59-4.75. Aislinn Hyder was tops in the pole vault with a mark of 10-5.25. Sydney Williams and Caroline Bell finished first and second in the high jump, respectively, with heights of 4-11.
 
Brianna Cummings and Avery Minnis came in first and second in the mile with times of 5:23.97 and 5:26.95, respectively. Starr Scott led three Billikens with a win in the 800 meters, crossing in 2:22.34.
 
For the men, Evan Bruenderman won the long jump (22-1), while Jayden Kouadio finished first in the high jump (6-6).
 
Lukasz Iwanowski and Kyle Giricz placed first and second in the mile with times of 5:23.97 and 5:26.95, respectively. The Bills' 4x400-meter relay team finished first as well with a time of 3:25.96.
 
The A-10 Championships will be held Feb. 23-24 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
