Â
Saint Louis' winning streak was halted by a 4-0 loss at No. 60 Kansas March 28, but the Billikens still hold an outstanding 12-1 record. SLU set the program record for best start to a season (12-0) and tied the school mark of 12 consecutive victories.
Â
Emmerson White (9-0),
Sandra Gines (8-0) and
Elizabeth Mintusova (8-2) own the top dual singles records for the Bills, who have a 47-12 singles mark (.797) in dual matches.
Â
SLU is 44-17 (.721) in doubles action. Mintusova and
Kseniia Aleshina are 5-0 at No. 1, while
Norhan Hesham and
Nicolly Ferreira's 9-1 record includes 7-1 at No. 2.
Â
Ohio Valley Conference member SIUE has amassed a 12-3 record. The 2023 Cougars were 17-5 and runners-up at the OVC Championship.
Â
"SIUE has very strong doubles teams and plays with a lot of passion, which has helped them compete well against all of the teams they have played this season," head coach
Justin Stuckey said.
Â
Bradley, which competes in the Missouri Valley Conference, is 7-11.
Â
"Bradley is an improved team from last year," Stuckey said. "They have great depth in their singles lineup and test us every time we play them."
Â
Missouri of the Southeastern Conference is 4-17 against a schedule that includes numerous nationally ranked opponents. The Tigers face Texas A&M and LSU before taking on the Billikens.
Â
"Missouri is a team we've played several times over the years," Stuckey said. "They are balanced and play in a strong conference. They always play with a lot of energy, so matching that energy will be important for us to have success."
