ST. LOUIS – Five Saint Louis University tennis student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2024 Academic All-District team.
 
Representing the Billikens are Norhan Hesham of the women's team and Theo Ortis, Andres Castellanos, Luca Lo Nardo and Declan Townsend of the men's team. Hesham and Ortis earned the award for a second consecutive year.
 
To be eligible for tennis Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, and be in the lineup for at least 70 percent of the team's total matches that include a team score.
 
Hesham is a finance major with a 3.553 GPA. She turned in an 11-8 singles record and tied for second on the team in doubles victories with a 15-8 mark.

Ortis is an aeronautics major with a 3.516 GPA. He tied for the team lead in overall singles wins (14-7), and his 11 dual-meet victories (11-4) led Saint Louis. Ortis also contributed 11 doubles wins.
 
Castellanos is a computer science major with a 3.885 GPA. He went 6-6 in singles, playing at least one match at four different positions, and was 3-3 in doubles.
 
Lo Nardo is a finance major with a 3.909 GPA. He also logged action at four different singles positions, notching a 12-12 record. In doubles, Lo Nardo led the Billikens in total wins (14-8) and dual-meet wins (8-5).
 
Townsend carries a 4.00 GPA and is undecided on a major. He tied for the team lead in overall singles wins (14-8), including a 10-6 ledger in dual meets, and picked up 11 doubles victories.
