The 15 member institutions of the A-10 produced a record 4,155 honorees, topping 3,500 for a fifth consecutive year, and the average of 277 per institution also is a record. The 269 Billikens are just shy of the school record of 271 set last year.
To be listed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have at least a 3.0 grade point average for the entire academic year. Beginning in 2017-18, Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades have been awarded based on the entire academic year after previously being granted following each semester. SLU placed 232 student-athletes on the 2017-18 list, followed by 244 in 2018-19, 259 in 2019-20, 252 in 2020-21, 255 in 2021-22, 271 in 2022-23 and 269 this year.
"Year after year, our student-athletes perform at the highest levels, setting records for Commissioner's Honor Roll in total honorees, topping 4,000 for the first time in league history," A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade said. "A commitment to high academics is a hallmark of the Atlantic 10 Conference, and I commend each of our honorees and our member institutions for prioritizing the educational experience and academic success."
