COLUMBIA, Mo. – Saint Louis competed in a stacked field on Friday in the Gans Creek Classic at the University of Missouri.

There were 38 teams competing on the women's side and 36 on the men's side. Stanford won both the men's and women's competitions.

The Billiken women placed 25th overall and were led by freshman
Emery Mayfield, who finished the 6K in a 78th-place time of 21:26.2. Sophomore
Emily Morden was the next Billiken finisher with a time of 21:47.4.

Starr Scott was third among the Bills with a time of 22:21.6.
Sophia Pelligreen was close behind with a time of 22:26.2, while
Sonja Morin rounded out the Billikens' scoring with a time of 22:33.6.

On the men's side, the Billikens finished 26th as a team.
Tyler Schweizer led the Billikens with a finish 114th, covering the 8K course in 24:42.5. Pulling in next for SLU were
Manny Vela and
Brock Waugh, who ran neck-and-neck finishing with time of 24:54.6 and 24:56.0, respectively.

Lukasz Iwanowski was the fourth Billiken finisher with a time of 25:13.3.
George Blanco scored for SLU, finishing in 25:25.7.

Saint Louis next heads to the Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 18. That will be the final meet for the Bills before the A-10 Championships on Nov. 2 in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
