WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Louis freshman defender Gershon Henry was named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Rookie of the Week, the league announced today.

In his first collegiate start against Loyola Chicago on Saturday, Henry played a full 90 minutes on the Billiken defense that yielded just seven shots (only two on goal). The Ramblers' lone goal of the night game with just 15 seconds remaining. The Billikens won the match 2-1.

Henry provided valuable minutes as the Billikens were without their regular starting centerbacks in Max Floriani and Joey Maher.

Saint Louis returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Charlotte at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Game time on ESPN+ is 7 p.m.
