COLUMBIA, Mo. – Saint Louis' indoor track and field squad resumed its indoor season Friday by competing against other Missouri Division I programs at Mizzou's Show-Me Showdown at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.
Freshman Sam Lamaze broke the school record in the 400 meters. He finished in a first-place and school-record time of 48.66 to break the previous SLU standard that was held by Danny Hopkins and set in 2020 (48.74).
Several other Billikens posted first-place finishes during the meet. Starr Scott won the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.70, finishing just ahead of Sonja Morin who came in second in a time of 2:16.26. Emily Morden won the mile, crossing in 4:57.39.
Journey Amundson was a double-winner, finishing first in the long jump with a mark of 18-10 and first in the triple jump with a distance of 40-10.5.Â
Ethan Bryant won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50. Evan Bruenderman was the winner in the triple jump, reaching 48-4.5.
The Billikens are back in action next weekend when they compete in the prestigious Crossroads of America Invitational at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center in Indianapolis.Â
