INDIANAPOLIS – Saint Louis took part in the Crossroads of America Invitational this past weekend at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis. The meet hosted some of the top teams and athletes from across the country.
Journey Amundson lowered her own school record in the triple jump, finishing second overall in the competitive field with a mark of 41-11.25. Amundson also placed eighth in the long jump (19-4.75).
Other top-10 performances on the women's side include Emery Mayfield pulling in seventh in the 5,000 meters (17:23.44). The women's Distance Medley Relay of Sonja Morin, Patricia O'Neill, Riley Franz and Starr Scott finished fourth overall (12:07.16).
On the men's side, Brock Waugh ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 3,000 meters, finishing 10th overall in a time of 8:10.20.
Jack McPhillips and Malik Stewart placed seventh and eighth in the 600 meters with times of 1:23.10 and 1:23:75, respectively. Evan Bruenderman placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 47-11.75.
Saint Louis returns to action next weekend for the Meyo Invitational at the University of Notre Dame.
