WASHINGTON – Saint Louis senior goalkeeper Jeremi Abonnel was named the Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer Rookie of the Week, the league announced today.

It is the first time this season and fourth time in Abonnel's career he has earned the honor.

Abonnel finished with a season-high-tying five saves in a scoreless draw against Dayton. In the first half, he stopped a shot with his feet as the Flyers threatened. In the second half, Abonnel turned aside a shot that was curling in by diving to his left, helping to secure his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Abonnel is tied for sixth in the NCAA with six shutouts. His .811 save percentage ranks among the top 30 nationally as well.

The Billikens play two road games this week – Wednesday (Oct. 8) at George Washington and Saturday (Oct. 11) at VCU.
