WASHINGTON – Saint Louis freshman defender Blakely Hockett is the Atlantic 10 Conference women's soccer Rookie of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5, the league office announced Monday.
 
Hockett scored a goal in both Saint Louis victories last week. She netted the first goal of her collegiate career, which turned out to be the game-winner, in the Billikens' 4-0 win over La Salle. Hockett's goal at Saint Joseph's gave SLU a 3-0 lead on its way to a 5-0 victory.
 
In addition, Hockett played all 180 minutes at center back and helped limit the Billikens' opponents to nine total shots and two shots on goal combined.
 
Midway through the 10-game A-10 schedule, Saint Louis (10-2-1, 5-0 A-10) is tied with Dayton for the league lead. The Billikens will carry a five-game winning streak and an eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1) into their home match vs. Duquesne on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m.
