WASHINGTON – Six Saint Louis University women's soccer student-athletes, including a first-team selection and a major-award winner, earned 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference postseason honors, the league announced Tuesday.
Senior defender
Izzy Luebbert garnered places on the All-Conference first team and the All-Academic team. Saint Louis placed a student-athlete on the first team for a 10th consecutive year and on the All-Academic squad for a 12th time in the past 13 years.
Freshman forward
Caroline Chier was selected the league's co-Rookie of the Year, becoming the sixth player (four A-10, two Conference USA) in SLU women's soccer history to earn the top conference award for a newcomer. Chier's selection gives SLU its 19th A-10 postseason major award since 2016.
Graduate midfielder
Hannah Larson and redshirt-senior midfielder
Julia Simon landed on the All-Conference second team. Larson collected the third All-Conference honor of her career, while Simon claimed her second.
Saint Louis has produced 62 All-Conference selections over the past 10 seasons, including 40 first-team choices.
Freshman forward
Adee Broesder and freshman defender
Blakely Hockett joined Chier on the A-10 All-Rookie team, giving SLU its second-most All-Rookie honorees in a season. The Billikens have had at least one All-Rookie choice in nine of the past 10 years and multiple All-Rookie performers six times in their A-10 history.
Luebbert, a starter in every game this season, is tied for the A-10 lead with seven assists and tied for ninth with a team-high 15 points. Two of her four goals were game-winners, tying for eighth in the league. In addition to her career-high goals and points totals, the outside back is a key component of a Billiken defense that ranks second in the conference (tied for seventh nationally) with 11 shutouts and second (33rd nationally) with a 0.74 goals against average. Luebbert has earned honorable mention on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week twice this season.
A data science major, Luebbert carries a 3.903 cumulative grade point average.
Chier has played in all but one game and has been in the Billikens' first 11 eight times, including each of the past five games. She is second on the team and tied for fourth in the A-10 with six assists, a total that ties for fifth on SLU's all-time season list for freshmen. Chier, the A-10 Rookie of the Week for Oct. 6-12, also has one goal.
Despite missing five games,
Simon leads Saint Louis with a career-high seven goals, ranking sixth in the A-10, and her career-high 14 points are second on the team. Five of her goals came in conference play. Simon, who garnered honorable mention on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for Oct. 13-19, is tied for eighth in the league with two game-winning goals.
Larson is tied for 10th in the A-10 with five assists and also has one goal. Her 27 career assists and 73 career points rank fifth and eighth, respectively, in program history.
Broesder, the A-10 Rookie of the Week for Sept. 22-28, has played in all 19 games. She is tied for second on the team with five goals and stands third with 13 points (5G, 3A). Broesder is tied for eighth in the A-10 with two game-winning goals, and she produced eight (3G, 2A) of her 13 points in league play.
Hockett earned a spot in SLU's first 11 early in the season and has started the past 14 contests at center back. In addition to helping lead the Bills to high national rankings in shutouts and GAA, she has two goals including a game-winner. Hockett, who leads Saint Louis freshmen and ranks third among all Billiken field players with 1,328 minutes, appeared on Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list (No. 52) and was the A-10 Rookie of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
