EDWARDSVILLE – Saint Louis continued its outdoor track and field season on Saturday at SIUE's Cougar Classic, and posted several PRs in the process.
On the women's side, Quincy Hubert won the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in a PR of 1:00.71. Patricia O'Neill turned in a PR in the 400 meters of 56.78, while Ellie Shanahan posted PRs in both the 100 meters (12.57) and 200 meters (25.55).
Emily Morden finished first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 11:04.93.
On the men's side, Chase Pitre ran the 800 meters in a time of 1:52.67. Malik Stewart finished the 800 in 1:52.99, his fastest time in the event in two years. Jack McPhillips turned in an 800 meter PR of 1:54.59.
Sam Lamaze placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 47.91.
The men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams finished first. The men's team was comprised of Carson Amstutz, Chase Pitre, Malik Stewart and Sam Lamaze and they finished in a time of 3:15.12.
The women's 4x4 team of Patricia O'Neill, Becky Phillips, Jillian Jackson and Zora Williams placed first in a time of 3:52.52.
SLU competes next week at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.
