ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis' Journey Amundson will take part in the First Rounds of the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are set for May 28-31 at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Amundson will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 2:30 p.m. She enters the First Rounds with a top mark of 12.81 meters in the triple jump and is ranked 35th in the West Region.Â
Amundson is vying for a spot in the finals of the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, held on June 11-14 at Hayward Field. Athletes who ranked among the top 48 in their respective event earned a berth into the NCAA West First Rounds. The top 12 at both the East and West First Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene.
A two-time A-10 triple jump champion, Amundson holds the school record in the triple jump of 12.81 meters, which was set earlier this season at the Billiken Invitational. This is the second year she qualified for the NCAA Championships. Last year, Amundson placed 33rd in the triple jump in First Round competition in Fayetteville, Ark.
SLU has a long history of Billikens advancing to the NCAA Championships, in particular in the triple jump. Amundson is the 14th women's student-athlete to advance, with those 14 women making a total of 29 appearances. Seven of those 29 appearances have come in the triple jump – four by Brittney Cloudy, two by Journey Amundson and one by Katie Wissing.
Additionally, SLU has advanced at least one student-athlete to the NCAA Championships 14 times in 19 seasons in program history.Â
