Saint Louis takes on the fifth-ranked SMU Mustangs on Sunday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The match is the second game of a doubleheader at Hermann Stadium. The women's team hosts Missouri at 5 p.m. One ticket is good for both games.

Both SLU and SMU played to a tie in its respective season openers. The Billikens played to a scoreless draw against South Florida on Thursday night. The Mustangs fell behind 2-0 against No. 18 Kansas City but rallied with two goals to salvage a 2-2 draw.

Last season, SMU finished 12-3-6 overall and reached the NCAA quarterfinals.

Saint Louis went 8-5-8 overall and 4-1-3 in Atlantic 10 Conference play a season ago. The Bills earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship, their NCAA-record 51st tournament appearance.

Sunday's match will be streamed on ESPN+. Dan Bettlach will call the action.

Here are five additional facts in advance of Sunday's match vs. SMU:

1 // SLU senior goalkeeper Jeremi Abonnel, last year's Atlantic 10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, was named to the league's preseason All-Conference team. He also checked in at No. 55 on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 Players list. Abonnel recorded his 14th career shutout Thursday night against USF.

2 // Sophomore midfielder Drake Fournier came in at No. 66 on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 Players rankings.

3 // SLU head coach Kevin Kalish, a two-time A-10 Coach of the Year, is in his eighth season at SLU and 14th overall as a collegiate head coach. Kalish is 69-31-28 during his time at SLU and 118-77-42 in his career.

4 // Sunday's match is one of five for the Billikens against foes currently ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll. SLU also plays #11 Indiana (Sept. 3), #24 Missouri State (Sept. 16), #21 Akron (Sept. 23) and #12 Dayton (Oct. 4).

5 // Saint Louis and SMU are continuing a long-standing rivalry. This will be the 40th meeting between the squads in a series that began in 1975. In fact, SMU is the Billikens' third-most common opponent, trailing only Indiana (47 meetings) and SIUE (41 meetings). SMU leads the all-time series 18-14-7. The Mustangs have won three in a row in the series and are 5-0-3 against the Bills over the last eight meetings. SLU's last win came in 2005, a 4-2 Billiken win in Dallas.
