Saint Louis' men's and women's cross country teams will compete Friday in the prestigious Gans Creek Classic on Friday at the University of Missouri.
SLU has entries on the men's side in the 8K Black (8:15 a.m.) and 8K Open (11:15 a.m.) competitions. On the women's side, Billikens will compete in the 6K Black (10:30 a.m) and 6K Open (Noon).
Live results for the meet are available here. It will be streamed on SECNetwork+.
"This has the potential to be an extremely fun weekend for our cross country teams," SLU head coach Jon Bell said. "We have the opportunity to race some of the very best teams in the country. Baylor, Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio State, UCLA, Navy, Vanderbilt – all the power conferences are represented. As a coach, knowing that our kids want to be in this environment and testing themselves against the best is all I can ask. The challenge before us is not letting the emotion distract from our ability to execute a race plan and compete with a level head."
Starr Scott and Emily Morden have led the SLU women in its first two meets this season. On the men's side, Manny Vela finished out front for the Bills in the two previous meets this year.
Friday's meet is being held at Gans Creek Cross Country Course, the site of this year's NCAA Championship. SLU also competes at Gans Creek on Oct. 18 for the Pre-National Invitational. The 2025 A-10 Championship is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, in Cedarville, Ohio, and the NCAA Midwest Regional will be held Friday, Nov. 14, in Stillwater, Okla.
