Saint Louis' indoor track and field teams added a pair of meets to the schedule this weekend after last week's competition was canceled due to weather.
The Billikens competed at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational at the University of Missouri and the Jason Dennis Memorial at Illinois Wesleyan University. SLU recorded numerous personal records and had several athletes capture event victories.
At the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational, Sophia Pelligreen posted strong performances in the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters, clocking 9:45.15 and 16:57.43, respectively. Her 5,000-meter time placed second overall and ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 this season.
Becky Phillips set a personal record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.74, which ranks No. 4 in the A-10.
SLU's 4x400-meter relay of Patricia O'Neill, Jillian Jackson, Phillips and Quincy Hubert ran 3:51.44, the fourth-fastest time in the A-10 this year.
Manny Vela won the 5,000 meters in 14:27.54 and also posted an 8:17.26 in the 3,000 meters.
Ronnie Brown recorded the A-10's top mile time by a freshman this season, crossing in 4:08.38.
At the Jason Dennis Memorial, John Giricz won the mile (4:23.34), Tishan Abey won the 5,000 meters (15:31.71), Dalton Ross won the 60-meter hurdles (8.60), Sam Bowerman won the triple jump (13.74 meters) and Tristan Boatman won the weight throw (18.26 meters).
Jenna Givens won the women's triple jump (18.28 meters), while Tegan Bishop captured the mile in 5:21.09.
The Billikens return to action Friday, Feb. 6, at the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Missouri.
