DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Saint Louis men's soccer team appeared poised to clinch the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season championship after Tanner Anderson's 89th-minute goal gave the Billikens a late lead, but Davidson answered just 23 seconds later and the game ended in a 1-1 Saturday night at Alumni Stadium.
SLU (7-4-5, 5-1-2 A10) broke through in the 89th minute. Anderson scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season at 88:27, a strike from the top of the box, off an assist from Luke Poncirolli.
However, Davidson (6-5-5, 4-3-1 A10) answered quickly. Brady McGlone found the net at 88:50, with Myles Culley providing the assist, to pull the Wildcats even and preserve the draw.
Saint Louis will be the No. 2 seed in the A10 Men's Soccer Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match on Friday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. at Hermann Stadium. The tournament bracket will be announced later Saturday night.
