ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis is the No. 2 seed for the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Soccer Tournament and will host No. 7 Dayton in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. at Hermann Stadium.
SLU finished the regular season 7-4-5 overall and 5-1-2 in A10 play, one point behind regular-season champion Duquesne (6-2 in the A10). The Billikens were unbeaten in league play over their final four games (3-0-1).
Dayton enters the postseason 9-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the A10. The Flyers entered their regular-season finale on a three-game winning streak before losing to Loyola Chicago.
The Billikens and Flyers played in the A10 opener earlier this season at Dayton's Baujan Field. The Flyers scored a goal early to go up 1-0, and the Billikens recorded the equalizer in the 88th minute when SLU's Alander Soares converted a penalty kick to end the game in a 1-1 draw.
The Billikens and Flyers are no strangers to each other. On top of meeting in the regular season every year, the teams have met in postseason play four of the last five years, including the last two A10 Tournament finals.
Following the quarterfinal round, teams will be re-seeded for the semifinals, which will be played on the campuses of the two highest remaining seeds Tuesday, Nov. 10. The championship final will be played on the home field of the highest remaining seed Saturday, Nov. 14
