Lamaze is A-10 Champion in 400 Meters

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Saint Louis' Sam Lamaze was crowned the Atlantic 10 champion in the 400 meters Saturday at the A-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships, which were held Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

Lamaze's time of 47.22 was a meet record and broke his own indoor school record. It is his second straight A-10 title in the 400 meters after winning gold in the 2025 Outdoor Championships.

Also reaching the podium was Tristan Boatman, who placed third in the shot put with a mark of 15.73 meters. Griffin Kimbrel won bronze in the pole vault, reaching 4.51 meters.

On the women's side, Sophia Pelligreen was the Billikens' top scorer, finishing sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:57.82. 

The Billikens' 4x800-meter relay (Starr Scott, Meredith Drylie, Renee Ballard, Emily Morden) also turned in a sixth-place finish with a time of 9:13.49.

The men's team placed fifth overall with 72 points. The women's team was 13th with 15 points.
